The event will now use the 3.9 mile endurance circuit, which incorporates an extra six turns as well as the majority of the configuration used in recent years. The additional track leaves the circuit just after turn four, sweeping left then right before entering a slower complex and finally a hairpin that rejoins at the old turn five. The new layout has been used in endurance sports car racing in the past and the circuit chairman Zayed R. Alzayani is hoping it will suit the 26-car Formula One grid for 2010.
This race is sponsored by Gulf Air. The Bahrain International Circuit began in 2002 and by the time he finished it was so great that it overshadowed by Kuwait Circuit and was the core of motor racing circuits in the Persian Gulf. The first race was in 2004 and is host to a lot of racing events including Formula One, GT Racing, Formula 3 race and the Australian V8 Supercars Series. This year is a new configuration called endurance circuits, which rounds kilomters 6299 and will turn left just after four. The event began in 2004 with Michael Schumacher winning the first time. The following year, it was Fernando Alonso who took the top podium position, and won again in 2006, which he remembered as the first driver to win two races back to return to the Middle East. Felipe Massa also has the honor of winning two races on this circuit, and last year it was Jenson Button win Brawn GP. You can watch f1 racing live by your membership at www.watch-live-formula1.com.
