The Formula 1 calender for 2010 season set to begin in March 12 of this year 2010 at the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sakhir. The 2010 Formula 1 season looks like being just as unpredictable as this year, when Jenson Button won the F1 title for Brawn GP at the team’s first attempt. Brawn GP will be missing from the 2010 Formula 1 grid, having been sold to Mercedes.
With the addition of several new teams there will be 26 cars on the grid for the 2010 Formula 1 season, for the first time since 1994. The Lotus name makes a comeback, with Virgin, Campos Meta and US F1 also joining the F1 grid.
Several new drivers will be making their debuts during the 2010 Formula 1 season. The Senna name returns to Grand Prix racing, with Bruno Senna joining Campos Meta. Bruno’s uncle, Ayrton, won three F1 titles before his fatal crash during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. Nico Hulkenberg has been a hot property for several years now, and the young German will make his Formula 1 debut in a Williams alongside Brazilian veteran Rubens Barrichello. Jose Maria Lopez is more of an unknown quantity and will be hoping to silence any doubters driving for the new US F1 team.
The main interest ahead of the 2010 Formula 1 season is bound to surround the highly anticipated return of Michael Schumacher to Grand Prix racing. Schumacher – who will be 41 by the the time the season starts – has agreed a one year deal with Mercedes partnering fellow German Nico Rosberg.
The year 2010 will also feature the come back of Michael Schumacher the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion driver. Schumacher will face strong competition in his bid to win an unprecedented eighth F1 title. McLaren have an all British line-up, with 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton being joined by current title holder Jenson Button. Double World Champion Fernando Alonso joins Ferrari for the 2010 Formula 1 season, partnering Felipe Massa who has recovered from his near fatal 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix accident. Red Bull have opted to retain the same line-up of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. Renault will be on the 2010 F1 grid, following great uncertainty over the team’s future. Highly rated Pole Robert Kubica will lead the French charge. Force India enjoyed a strong finish to the 2009 season and will be hoping to build on it with Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi at the wheel.
Toro Rosso will start the 2010 Formula 1 season with Sebastien Buemi, who impressed many during his debut season. He is joined by Jaime Alguersuari, who will be hoping to improve after a disappointing start to his Formula 1 career. With Toyota’s withdrawal from Formula 1 Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock have been forced to find alternative drives. Trulli has signed for Lotus, while Glock will drive for Virgin in 2010. Japanes sensation Kamui Kobayashi has agreed terms with Sauber, after a couple of electrifying performances for Toyota at the end of 2009. The 2010 Formula 1 season begins in Bahrain on March 14th.
